Dr Kristina Moll

About

Kristina completed a PhD in 2009 at the University of Salzburg, Austria; it was funded by the Austrian Science Fund and her theses investigated 'Comorbidity of deficits in reading, spelling, arithmetic and attention: prevalence and neuro-cognitive and genetic basis'. Kristina has teaching experience and has worked as a clinical psychologist and an occupational therapist in Germany. From 2009-2012 Kristina worked at the University of York as an ELDEL Experienced Researcher.

Kristina is now a researcher in the Department of Psychology at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz in Austria.

Research interests

  • Neuro-cognitive deficits in developmental disorders with focus on learning disorders - particularly dyslexia
  • Associations and dissociations between deficits in reading and deficits in spelling
  • Comorbidity between arithmetic deficits and literacy deficits
  • Reading and spelling development in different orthographies

Recent projects

  • The ELDEL/Wellcome Reading and Numeracy Project: This longitudinal study is part of ELDEL (Enhancing Literacy Development in European Languages) which is a Marie-Curie Initial Training Network on the scientific study of literacy development. The project is aiming to understand the different developmental pathways of literacy and numeracy skills within the same family. More information about 'The ELDEL/Wellcome Reading and Numeracy Project' can be found here: ELDEL in York
  • Reading development in German and English: An Eyetracking study. In collaboration with Prof. Karin Landerl (University of Graz) and Anne Rau (University of Tuebingen)
